Crafted from a single piece of olive wood with a unique grain, this piece showcases the raw, natural beauty of the Mediterranean tree. Black, branch-like patterns, created using the Lichtenberg fractal technique, depict vibrant, organic landscapes on the polished wood surface.
Each engraving is the result of a controlled electrical discharge, revealing the invisible paths that energy traces in matter.
The piece of wood was then enhanced by a wood gilder from the village of Moulin-le-Carbonnel, who hand-applied thin sheets of yellow gold into the hollows of the fractals, adding warm and luminous highlights to the whole.
A unique decorative object, this creation blends artistic craftsmanship, nature and electricity, for a result that is both modern and timeless.
The Lichtenberg figure, or "electrical tree," is a fractal pattern resembling branching limbs that appears when a high electrical voltage is applied to an insulating material, such as wood. The electrical discharge ionizes the air, creating a conductive path through the material.
