This A polychrome lithograph signed by Albert Robida, dated 1880, depicts the Rue of The Poultry House in Rennes, now renamed Rue de Penhoët. In delicate shades of pink and blue, the scene subtly captures the picturesque atmosphere of a bustling 19th-century street. The work is presented in a burr elm wood frame, which enhances its antique charm. There are a few scratches on the frame, but no foxing to report on the paper.

Albert Robida (1848–1926), illustrator, caricaturist, and visionary writer, was one of the great chroniclers of his time. Passionate about observing reality, he produced numerous sketches and engravings, blending documentary precision with a sense of the picturesque. His work, poised between history and iconography, now constitutes a valuable record of urban life and the landscapes of his era.

This lithograph will delight lovers of historical graphic art, enthusiasts of old Rennes and collectors of 19th century French drawings.
