This is a unique creation, born from the transformation of a cast-iron cow trough into a stylish and original accent lamp. The trough's rounded shape creates a veritable luminous grotto, where the bulb naturally finds its place. The original openings, intended for the water supply, have been ingeniously repurposed to run the electrical wire and install a retro switch.
The cast iron has been restored and now displays a patina blending anthracite gray and shades of rust, highlighting the texture and history of the material. This lamp tells a story of agricultural and industrial past, pays homage to this ancient craftsmanship, and is transformed into a functional and decorative contemporary object.
Historically, the production of cast iron drinking troughs began to decline in Europe in the 1950s–1960s, and ceased completely in the 1970s.
