The "chantepleure" bears a poetic name from the Middle Ages: it was the terracotta watering can of the time. It "sings" when filled, its gurgling sound resonating like a melody, then it "weeps" as the water gently flows to water the soil. Both practical and poetic in its name, the simple act of watering becomes a patient and beneficial experience.
Made of ceramic This celadon piece plays with the contrasts between matte terracotta and glossy pale green glaze. Its engraved decoration depicts a stylized dragon, a symbol of strength and protection, seemingly watching over the plant it is watering. A beautiful handcrafted piece with a clean, simple form, produced in limited quantities, and signed on the base.
