Réalisé à la main dans son atelier nantais, ce cache-vase en cuir signé Pique-Prune illustre l’élégance du savoir-faire maroquinier français.
Chaque pièce est façonnée à partir d’un cuir d’origine française, issu de peaux d’animaux élevés pour leur viande et tanné de façon végétale, un procédé respectueux de l’environnement qui révèle toute la noblesse de la matière.
Son bleu cobalt profond capte la lumière et souligne la forme galbée du cuir, pensée pour épouser un pot en verre. Un écrin raffiné, à garnir de fleurs ou à contempler tel quel.
La couture est réalisée à la machine avec un fil bleu, garantissant une grande régularité du point : longueur constante, alignement précis et tension maîtrisée. Moins emblématique que la couture main au point sellier, la couture machine apporte un style plus moderne et épuré à la pièce, tout en permettant un temps de fabrication réduit. Elle offre également un avantage important pour l’artisan, en limitant la sollicitation physique, le point sellier pouvant être éprouvant pour les doigts et les articulations sur le long terme.
Le logo Pique-prune de couleur dorée, apposé sur la face avant, signe un objet à la fois raffiné, original et durable, fruit du travail minutieux de Claire A., artisane passionnée.

Plum Picker - Claire Aujeau
Pique-Prune is first and foremost the name of a small, protected beetle that, in its own way, changed the course of events. It is also the image that accompanies the journey of Claire Aujeau, who also chose to deviate from her path to return to her family's heartland: three generations of saddlers and harness makers, and a know-how passed down by her father.
Trained by him, Claire developed her skills "by hand." Her time in the Hermès workshops honed her sense of precision, clean lines, and aesthetics. The artisan-creator training at the AFPA in Cholet consolidated her expertise, culminating in the creation of her own workshop in Nantes in 2022.
She works with top-quality leather, sourced from cattle raised in Brittany and Normandy for their meat, guaranteeing humane farming practices. The leathers, vegetable-tanned in tanneries in France and Tuscany, are free of chemicals.
Claire loves to feel the material, to soften it, to shape it. She uses precise tools, but above all her eye and her hands, which respect the natural "wrinkles" of the leather and reveal its character. The quality of the hides, her expertise, and the sensitivity she brings to each gesture give birth to simple, authentic, and profoundly sensory pieces.
